Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving record, excellent route management skills, and the ability to handle diverse cargo types, including refrigerated loads, flatbed shipments, tankers, and more. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport a variety of freight types, including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklift or manual methods, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Manage route driving schedules effectively to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery statuses or any operational issues.
- Assist with loading or unloading freight as needed, demonstrating versatility in handling different types of cargo.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when operating specialized equipment such as forklift or dump trucks.
- Support company efforts in maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trucks.
- Experience operating various commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and forklifts.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to navigate diverse routes confidently.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while ensuring cargo security.
- Knowledge of route planning techniques to optimize delivery schedules.
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and clients.
- Physical stamina and attention to detail necessary for inspecting vehicles and cargo integrity.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to commercial driving and equipment operation.
