Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Track Protection Worker / Railway Flagman based in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, ON. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and security of workers and rail traffic during track maintenance and construction activities. You will monitor railways for oncoming trains, clearing the work crew, and maintain clear communication with railway operators. Additional duties involve setting up equipment, adhering to safety protocols and assisting in ensuring work zone compliance at all times.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of railway safety regulations and protocols
- Proven experience in track maintenance or a similar role is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to relay precise instructions and job briefings
- Ability to work effectively in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain focus and situational awareness
- Proficiency in managing compliance and railway standards
- Experience with teamwork in high-pressure or safety-critical scenarios
- Physical fitness to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long hours and lifting equipment
- Class G Ontario Driver’s License is a requirement
