Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and customer service while efficiently transporting goods within designated routes. This role requires experience , tractor-trailers, and refrigerated trailers. Will be delivering to Trader Joe’s stores in North Carolina Virginia DC and Maryland . 5 routes a week. Each route takes approximately 4-6 hours and you will be getting paid percentage pay Plus Sign on bonus of 2500 paid out every year that you Are here Average pay is 250 for local routes and 450 for North Carolina . Will be W2 or 1099 employee. Must be able to work Weekends.. Early morning or Early afternoon. Everything unloaded with pallet jack. No hard physical work. . No tickets or accidents in the last 2 years and no failed drug tests . GREAT opportunity. Pic up in Ruther Glen Va deliver to North Carolina Northern Va, Maryland and DC Area. One store per day. Takes 35-45 minutes to unload drive back to ruther Glen and you are done for the day. everything unloaded with pallet jack. You pick your schedule based on how much you want to work and you pick your routes on what’s available Based on when the load planner calls . plen of year round work. ‘ FIRST DRUG TEST IS HAIR FOLICLE EACH TEST AFTER THAT IS RANDOM URINE.’ Must have minimum 1 year of verifiable class a cdl experience. Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, and reefer trailers
- Execute route driving to deliver freight to various locations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs for hours of service and vehicle inspections.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any issues or delays encountered during routes.
- Utilize forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading freight.
- Demonstrate proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles as required.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type being operated.
- Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driver roles, particularly with refrigerated trailers or flatbed trucks.
- Familiarity with operating tanker vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to navigate local routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight transport.
- Experience with freight handling and load securing techniques is essential.
- Capability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
