Job Overview
Goodwill of Colorado is hiring a CDL A or B Truck Driver to join the transportation team of a local asphalt company. The driver will safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated destinations, ensuring timely delivery and supporting the company’s reputation for reliability.
Key Details
Pay: $22-30/hour
Employment Type: Short‑term, with potential for temp‑to‑hire
The position is outdoors and is customer‑facing, representing the client and Goodwill in a positive manner.
Essential Functions
- Haul construction materials and equipment to and from jobsites (CDL‑A or
B).
- Assist the team in completing jobs.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational condition.
- Work safely and communicate clearly with the team.
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor‑trailers and box trucks, complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and hours‑of‑service requirements.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and supervisors, providing delivery updates and addressing delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring accurate counting and inspection.
- Handle paperwork such as bills of lading and delivery confirmations.
- Operate equipment (lift gates, pallet jacks, hand trucks) for loading/unloading.
- Keep the truck clean and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and safe driving practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, interacting professionally with clients.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to driver safety, performance, and conduct.
Qualifications
- CDL Class A required (class B acceptable).
- Clean driving record.
- Good attitude and strong work ethic.
- Punctuality and readiness to work.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CDL truck driver.
- Knowledge of and adherence to federal and state transportation regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain commercial vehicles safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift/move heavy cargo as needed.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and route‑planning software.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
- Commitment to safety for self and others on the road.
- Professional, customer‑oriented attitude.
- Background check, MVR check, and drug screen required per client requirements.

Heavy lifting (45 lbs & over) required continuously. Moderate lifting (15‑44 lbs) and light lifting (14 lbs & under) continuous. Carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching (above, at, below shoulder), twisting, bending, kneeling/crawling, squatting, climbing (stairs, ladders), hearing, vision, hand/finger tasks, walking, standing, sitting, speaking are all continuous. All tasks performed while driving.
