In this position, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and roll-off trucks, delivering freight safely and on time. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across regional routes, ensuring timely deliveries of freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when qualified.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or forklifts, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated items, flatbed loads, or tanker contents.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate route adjustments or address delivery issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols during load & unload operations, ensuring proper handling of freight and hazardous materials when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license; experience with route driving preferred.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and various vehicle types such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Ability to handle freight safely during loading/unloading processes using manual handling equipment or forklifts when required.
- Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems to optimize routes across regional territories.
- Experience in logistics cargo handling including freight securing techniques for different types of loads like dangerous goods or refrigerated items.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks and operate heavy-duty equipment safely.

Pay: $0.60 – $0.65 per mile
