Watkins Distributing is a family owned and operated beverage distribution company that has serviced Idaho and Montana for four generations.
Job Summary:
The delivery driver will be responsible for local delivery activities within a defined territory. The work schedule is 4, 10 hour days.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely operate delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company policies
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain required logs, and report any vehicle issues
- Drive assigned routes and deliver products in a safe, timely, and professional manner
- Load, transport, and unload product using proper handling techniques, including pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Deliver and unload product at customer locations, including navigating stairs, tight spaces, and varying environments
- Verify delivery accuracy by reviewing orders, checking product, and obtaining customer signatures
- Collect payments, invoices, and complete all required route documentation accurately
- Rotate product, stock shelves and coolers, and assist with display merchandising at delivery locations
- Pick up and return empty kegs and damaged product as required
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle, including refueling and inspections
- Communicate effectively with store personnel, sales representatives, and supervisors
- Adhere to all safety standards, alcohol delivery laws, DOT requirements, and company policies at all times
- Perform all assigned duties in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner in accordance with established productivity standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations.
- Must be able to lift 25-35lbs regularly, and 160lbs to waist level.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class-A CDL license, and medical card
- Must be able to navigate with a hand truck full of product.
- Ability to utilize standard hand-held computer input/output devices.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift and move cases ranging from 20 - 30 lbs. regularly and 160 lbs. to waist level. Tasks include bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Work independently across multiple retail locations throughout the shift.
- Operate delivery vehicle safely in frequently varying weather conditions.
