Overview
Class 2 Driver – Andover | Monday – Friday | Start times: 6:00 AM / 7:00 AM | Salary: £17.60 per hour
My client is seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join their logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety and reliability to contribute to our operations.
Duties
- Prepare the vehicle by conducting operator maintenance, ensure all products for a delivery are correct, loaded onto the vehicle safely and correctly.
- Complete delivery notes and return sheets, and collect payments as required.
- Execute any special requests from customers by picking up and delivering items as directed on the delivery note.
- Check run sheets, pick orders for deliveries, and plan routing.
- Inform customers of stock shortages or problems with their delivery.
- Return all empty cases and gas bottles, and ensure they are stored in the empties yard and unloaded correctly.
- Physical and manual handling is involved.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Good safety practices and driving habits.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
