At Online Transport, the Driver Manager serves as the primary point of contact for a fleet of professional drivers. You’ll build relationships, solve problems, coordinate freight movement, and help drivers navigate the challenges of life on the road. This role combines operations, communication, coaching, and problem-solving to ensure our drivers remain safe, productive, and successful.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Driver Support & Fleet Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned fleet of drivers.
- Build strong working relationships through consistent communication, trust, and follow-through.
- Provide guidance and support related to trip planning, customer expectations, Hours of Service, and operational challenges.
- Assist drivers with home time planning, scheduling concerns, and day-to-day questions.
- Identify potential issues early and work proactively to prevent service failures, delays, or driver dissatisfaction.
Operations & Communication
- Dispatch and manage driver load plans to maximize service, productivity, and driver success.
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointment times, and route adjustments with the driver as needs change.
- Communicate with customers, Account Managers, Customer Specialists, Planners, and other internal departments to ensure freight moves efficiently. This includes but is not limited to delivery status, accessorial opportunities, available hours, and service concerns.
- Monitor service performance and address issues quickly with a solutions-focused mindset.
Driver Retention & Development
- Coach drivers on operational best practices, performance expectations, and success habits.
- Serve as a driver advocate while balancing customer needs and operational objectives.
- Build long-term relationships that contribute to driver satisfaction and retention.
- Recognize opportunities to improve the driver experience and share recommendations with leadership.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze service challenges, operational trends, and recurring issues to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Manage fleet costs responsibly while maintaining high levels of service and driver support.
- Contribute ideas that improve communication, efficiency, retention, and operational performance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in driver management, fleet management, dispatch, operations, logistics, or transportation.
- Familiarity with Hours of Service regulations and transportation operations.
- Experience with Samsara (fleet management/ELD platform).
- Experience with TMW Suite (Transportation Management Software).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
