Title: Delivery Driver
Position: Wage Non-exempt
Summary : This position is responsible for truck deliveries of lumber and other building materials. Position requires driving a truck with a capacity of up to but not exceeding 64,000 pounds to a specific destination.
DUTIES:
- Verify load against the delivery ticket to ensure that the load is complete and accurate
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Drive truck to specific destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area
- Unload shipment utilizing safe unloading practices
- Collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charge(s) if required
- Maintain contact with dispatch to receive delivery instructions
- Inspect truck equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
- Maintain a clean and neat truck at all times
- Daily maintenance inspection
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Always represent Pittman Lumber with a professional appearance and demeanor
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safe driving practices
- Basic Knowledge of building materials to identify load with delivery ticket
- Must have a clean driving record
- Lifting required up to 100 lbs. *Very labor intensive
