Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with dry van trailers across extensive OTR routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety and compliance.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit.
- Deliver freight to various destinations, including refrigerated trailers when applicable, maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
- Comply with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials, following all safety protocols.
- Maintain logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing excellent customer service.
- Handle specialized equipment such as forklifts or flatbed trucks when required for specific cargo types like freight or oversized loads.
Experience
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and recent experience in commercial truck driving.
- Proven experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes involving long-haul deliveries across multiple states.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, flatbeds, or dump trucks is a plus.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards.
- Experience in load & unload operations, including freight handling and securing cargo safely on tractor-trailers.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading processes.
- Prior delivery driver experience with route driving proficiency and excellent time management skills.
- Certifications such as Hazmat endorsement or forklift operation are advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $27.93 – $30.03 per hour
