CDL Driver / Road Mechanic – Used Transit Buses (Central Texas)

Spring Bird buys, sells, and services used transit buses nationwide. We need a road warrior based in Central Texas to move buses around the country.
What you’ll do:
- Drive used transit buses across the US, sometimes for weeks at a time
- Perform excellent pre-trip inspections, every time
- Top off fluids and monitor the bus along the route
- Handle basic mechanical repairs on the road
- Work with shops and mechanics along the way when bigger repairs come up
- Support our shops within a few hours of Austin between trips
Who you are:
- You have your CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements
- You have mechanical aptitude. You change your own oil. You have tools in your garage. When something breaks at home, you try to fix it before calling someone
- You’re flexible, adventurous, and comfortable being out on the road for extended stretches
- You solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to
Who you are NOT:
- If you just have a CDL and no mechanical ability, this is not the job for you. Pass this ad up
- If you need to be home every night, this is not the job for you
Pay:
- $0.75 per mile. Well above typical CDL Class B pay
