Role Overview
The Ticketing Executive (FIT / Groups) is responsible for sourcing, booking, and issuing air tickets for individual FIT travellers through GDS and B2B portals and airline consolidator systems. This is a high-volume, detail-intensive role requiring strong command of B2B platforms, fare comparison across systems, strong GDS proficiency, and the ability and the discipline to process bookings accurately within cost and timeline constraints set by the internal process.
Key responsibilities
- Search, book, and issue domestic and international air tickets via GDS (Amadeus / Galileo / Sabre) and airline portals, ensuring best available fares within approved budgets.
- Receive confirmed FIT booking briefs from the sales / ops team and execute air ticket searches across B2B portals to identify the best available fare matching the itinerary routing, travel dates, and class.
- Compare fares across multiple B2B systems simultaneously to ensure the most cost-effective option is selected without compromising on schedule suitability for the guest.
- Book and issue tickets on approved B2B portals after internal fare approval; maintain booking within the portal-specified ticket time limit to avoid auto-cancellation.
- Verify passenger details meticulously — name as per passport, DOB for infants / seniors, passport number and expiry — before issuance to eliminate name mismatch or documentation errors.
- Track all live PNRs for schedule changes, airline-initiated cancellations, or waitlist clearances; communicate proactively to the ops team and arrange alternatives if needed.
- Process voluntary changes (date change, routing change, upgrades) and involuntary changes (IRROPs) through the B2B portal or directly with the airline, applying fare rules correctly.
- Handle refund and reissuance requests through the portal; track credit shell validity and ensure timely utilisation or refund as per airline policy.
- Reconcile portal wallet / credit balances and flag low-balance alerts to the finance team in advance of high-volume booking periods.
- Maintain a daily booking log in the internal MIS tracker — covering booking reference, airline, PNR, fare paid, portal used, and ticket status — for QC and accounts reconciliation.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of ticketing experience in a travel agency, OTA, or tour operator environment.
- Hands-on proficiency in at least one major GDS (Amadeus strongly preferred); IATA certification a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with major B2B air consolidator platform — TripJack, TBO, My Partner, FD King or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of IATA fare construction rules, airline fare families, reissuance penalties, and BSP reporting.
- Familiarity with both LCC portals (IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air Arabia etc.) and full-service carrier inventory management.
- Experience handling group ticketing, including name changes, group deposits, and bulk reissuances.
- Strong attention to detail — zero tolerance for name mismatches, sector errors, or missed time limits.
- Ability to work under pressure with high accuracy during peak booking seasons and last-minute emergencies.
- Proficient in MS Excel / Google Sheets for MIS and booking reports.
