Position: Yard Operator with Security Duties
Location: St. John’s
Join Oceanex Inc. as a Yard Operator / Security at our St. John’s Terminal. Oversee equipment movement and ensure security while monitoring temperatures for refrigerated units during your shifts.
This pivotal role requires accuracy in recording all equipment entering and exiting the terminal. You will manage paperwork for drivers, handle snow clearing during winter, and conduct periodic yard checks to ensure everything is secure. Ideal candidates will have a strong focus on detail, operate a shunt truck, and complete assigned tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate records of all equipment movements
• Handle driver paperwork for loads staged in the yard
• Arrange snow clearing and ice control in winter
• Complete periodic checks for yard security
• Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerated equipment
Requirements:
• High School Diploma required
• Minimum 2 years experience in the transportation industry
• Basic computer skills needed
• Valid Driver’s License (Class 1 preferred)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work autonomously
