Duties
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Execute route driving assignments with precision to meet delivery schedules.
- Transport goods across local or regional routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates or delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route navigation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker, flatbed). This is required for interstate loads. For intrastate loads, no CDL is required.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks with proficiency in shifting gears smoothly.
- Experience driving specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers or tankers is a plus.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely using forklifts or other equipment when required.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to trucking operations and cargo handling.
- Access to your ELD(Electronic Logging Device) is required to ensure maximum driving limits, ELDs ensure drivers get adequate rest, reducing fatigue-related accidents.
