Summary
As a Truck Jockey on the Night Shift, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of trucks within the yard, ensuring timely loading and unloading of freight. Reporting to the Night Supervisors, your core skills in truck driving and commercial driving will be essential for safely maneuvering various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers. Your premium skills in handling manual transmissions and flatbed trucks will enhance operational efficiency. With relevant experience in delivery driving and forklift operation, you will contribute significantly to our logistics team, maintaining a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Night Shift – Sunday – Thursday
Operational Functions:
· Safely drive and park delivery vehicles in designated area.
· Ensures all doors are open to avoid any damage during loading and unloading.
· Once vehicle is fully loaded or unloaded, ensures all doors are closed prior to removing vehicle from warehouse.
· Reports all incidents, accidents, truck defects, to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
· Hours are second shift and employee must have flexible work schedule for hours and days. Availability for OT is required.
· Maintains good communication with those responsible for providing work assignment and flow.
· Performs assigned work in an efficient and SAFE manner, following all Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Protocol
· Adapts to changes in the work environment; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
· Approaches others in a tactful manner; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, specifically with tractor-trailers
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers
- Experience as a delivery driver and in loading/unloading freight
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
