Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating a tractor truck while pulling a flatbed and dry van trailer. Experience in operating heavy equipment is plus, but not necessary. This role involves transporting freight safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The Truck Driver will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, ensuring that all cargo is secured properly for transit.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks, including dry van and flatbed trailers
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, tractors, or skid steers.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to truck driving.
- Ensure the truck is clean and well-maintained at all times.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of route driving.
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for various types of freight.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
