Role Description: This full-time or Owner/Operator Truck Driver role at I-44 Express is based in Hazelwood, MO. Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating company trucks on assigned routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and following all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The driver will load and unload freight as needed, secure cargo properly, and maintain accurate logs and delivery documentation. The role also involves communicating with dispatch, meeting scheduled pickup and delivery times, and promptly reporting any delays, incidents, or maintenance issues. The driver is expected to uphold company safety standards, represent the company professionally with customers, and contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class E license and proven Truck Driving experience with commercial vehicles.
- Working knowledge of DOT Regulations and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to handle loading and Unloading tasks, including securing freight and using appropriate equipment.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug screenings.
- Strong time management, route planning, and communication skills with dispatch and customers.
- Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
- Capability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in regional or expedited freight is a plus.
