Truck Driver Jobs in Birmingham, AL at Diversified Nonferrous Technologies, Inc.
We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our company in a safe and timely manner. Deliveries are one day and home at night. Some deliveries will have a one night layover.
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants
- Valid DOT medical card and License with clean MVR.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipt
- Use forklifts to load and unload when needed at our plants
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver in a 26ft flat bed truck and a 3/4 ton truck pulling a 24ft trailer
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD, CB etc)
- Ability to drive when needed as customer requires
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid truck driving license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
