Duties
- Operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, and other commercial vehicles with manual transmission
- Safely load and unload freight/equipment using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Drive assigned or permited routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company standards
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit and ensure compliance with weight distribution standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during trips
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery route driving and handling various truck types.
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while following safety protocols
- Familiarity with freight handling equipment like forklifts for loading or unloading cargo
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, precision, and adherence to schedules
- Knowledge of regulations related to commercial driving and transportation laws in different regions
- Capable of managing long hours on the road while maintaining alertness and professionalism
Pay: $75,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
