Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and cargo vans to deliver local freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise will ensure that goods are transported securely across routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including cargo, sprinter vans and box trucks.
- Follow designated routes and schedules diligently while maintaining compliance with all traffic laws and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with the operation when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments.
- Strong understanding of load securing techniques and safety procedures for freight handling.
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps while adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Excellent driving record with a clean license;
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and capable of handling heavy cargo safely.
