Join our dynamic team as a Short Logger Log Truck Driver, where your expertise in commercial driving will fuel our operations! In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for safely transporting logs from forestry sites to processing facilities, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Your skills in maneuvering various truck types and handling freight will keep our supply chain moving efficiently. This position offers an energetic environment where your driving proficiency and attention to detail make a real impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers and specialized trucks such as dump trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, and other freight carriers with precision and safety.
- Load and unload logs and freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary.
- Drive route-specific deliveries to forestry sites, mills, or processing centers, adhering to scheduled timelines and route plans.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, ensuring all safety features are functional and compliant with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, cargo weight, delivery times, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual transmission operation, load securement, and handling refrigerated or hazardous freight.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and report any issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tanker trucks.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route driving and freight handling.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for the types of trucks operated (e.g., manual transmission proficiency).
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to freight transport and truck operation.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers or tanker trucks is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance. Embark on a career that drives success! Pay: $2,030.78 – $2,445.67 per week
