Shipping, Packing, Driver Jobs in Griffith at Hudec Woodworking Co.
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver with Packing and Loading experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods across long distances while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of products. This position also involves wrapping products, loading and unloading trucks, and occasionally working off-hours or driving at night.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving: Operate a box truck up to 26’ to transport goods to various destinations across long distances.
Product Wrapping: Properly wrap and secure products to prevent damage during transportation.
Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks as required, ensuring that all goods are handled with care and properly secured.
Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes, keeping track of delivery schedules and maintaining communication with dispatch.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including those related to vehicle maintenance, road safety, and cargo handling.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition. Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of driving hours, delivery logs, and other relevant documentation.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Qualifications:
For-hire endorsement (chauffeurs license)
Experience: Is a plus but, not necessary
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy loads, and to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
Work Schedule: Flexibility to work off-hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Safety-Oriented: Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and best practices in driving and cargo handling.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform minor repairs, Operating a fork lift

Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
