Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, ensuring safe and compliant driving practices
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, adhering to safety protocols
- Transport various types of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and heavy equipment like dump trucks
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and deliveries in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
- Plan efficient routes to maximize delivery schedules while minimizing delays and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments
- Box Truck Owners are needed as well
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and specialized trailers such as refrigerated units or flatbeds
- Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures in various environments
- Knowledge of route driving regulations, safety standards, and vehicle maintenance practices
- Ability to handle different freight types including tanker loads or roll-off containers with confidence
- Experience using forklift equipment for loading/unloading cargo is a plus
- Strong understanding of federal hours-of-service regulations and compliance requirements
