Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dependable Scrap Metal Route Driver to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various Light and Medium-duty trucks to collect and transport scrap metal from designated route locations. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help us efficiently manage scrap collection operations, ensuring timely pickups and excellent service for our customers. Duties
Route Management & Pickup
- Safely operate company vehicles to complete scheduled scrap metal pickups.
Material Handling
- Load, unload, and secure scrap metal safely using proper lifting techniques.
- Keep materials organized to prevent loss or damage during transport.
Recordkeeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate pickup logs, receipts, and documentation
- Report completed routes, incidents, or discrepancies promptly to management.
Customer & Facility Relations
- Represent our company professionally when interacting with customers and facility staff.
- Communicate effectively regarding pickups, special instructions, or concerns. Address minor operational issues on-site, escalating when necessary.
Experience
- Desire a commercial driver’s license (CDL) but not required
- Drivers License with a clean driving record
- Must past criminal background check
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor activity
