In this role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport, load, and unload large containers/compactors efficiently and safely. Your expertise will ensure timely pickups and deliveries, maintaining smooth route schedules while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks/compactors including models equipped with manual transmission as needed.
- Load, unload, and secure heavy waste containers using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hydraulic lifts.
- Drive route schedules efficiently while ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route progress, delivery status, and any encountered obstacles.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of freight or waste materials at various sites, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and safety inspections for compliance purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with roll off/compactors.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely.
- Manual transmission required.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws.
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually or with mechanical assistance; comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
