Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Roll Off Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to transport waste and recycling materials. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage heavy lifting and mechanical tasks associated with the operation of various truck types.
Duties
- Operate roll-off trucks, including front loader and rear loader models, to collect and transport waste materials.
- Safely load and unload containers at designated sites, ensuring all materials are secured during transport.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Utilize manual transmission vehicles when required, demonstrating proficiency in driving techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of loads transported and adhere to all local regulations regarding waste disposal.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate pick-up schedules and address any issues that arise during operations.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with roll-off trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Familiarity with flatbed trucks is a plus, as well as experience operating tractor-trailer combinations.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting on vehicles.
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety practices related to heavy lifting and transportation of materials.
