Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized freight vehicles across regional routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Plan and follow optimal routes for timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
- Assist with loading or securing freight as needed to ensure cargo safety during transit
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles with a focus on route driving within regional areas
- Proficiency in operating trucks and various vehicle types such as flatbeds, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Strong understanding of freight handling, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols
- Ability to drive tractor-trailers confidently over long distances while maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes under time constraints
- Knowledge of trucking regulations and compliance requirements for commercial driving
