Mission
Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an experienced CDL A Dump Trailer Driver based out of Duncan, SC. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate a truck equipped with a dump trailer to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and bituminous paving materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection checklist of equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Handle paperwork concerning Department of Transportation regulations, freight weigh bills, fuel tickets and load tickets.
- Carry out detailed instructions, take directions to job sites, use good judgement in decision-making, and work without direct supervision.
- Operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- At least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 6 months previous driving experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (no endorsements required).
- Able to drive manual transmission.
- Must be able to work days and/or nights.
- Must be able to work some Saturdays as needed.
- Meet all DOT requirements for CDL drivers, including the DOT physical exam.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing must be excellent or corrected by an audio device.
Work Environment
The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, vibration, wet or humid conditions, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
