Ready Mix Drivers (for ON-SITE North Phoenix Job)
Job Summary
The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. We are seeking a candidate with a cheerful outlook, strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Clean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer
- Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations
- Report all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
- Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management
Education
· High School Diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must have current Commercial Class B driver’s license.
- Safe driving record (will have to provide DMV H-6 printout) – no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
- Must have familiarity with slumps
- Good attendance and punctuality necessary
- Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
- Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears
- Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights, may be required.
Preferred:
- Must be able to shift a 10-speed manual transmission.
- Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
- 1+ years of commercial driving experience
Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate must have a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen. A current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate.
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
