Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Professional Driver role based in New York, NY. The Professional Driver will safely operate company trucks to transport wood flooring materials between warehouses, showrooms, job sites, and client locations. Daily responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, securing cargo, performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and following all traffic and safety regulations. The role also involves interacting professionally with clients and team members, obtaining required signatures or delivery confirmations, and accurately maintaining logs and delivery documentation. The driver will coordinate with dispatch and warehouse staff to plan efficient routes, support timely deliveries, and assist with basic vehicle cleanliness and preventive maintenance reporting.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Truck Driving with experience operating commercial trucks safely in urban and suburban environments.
- Valid CDL Class A (or applicable commercial driver’s license) in good standing, with a clean driving record.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact courteously and professionally with clients, site personnel, and internal teams.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including lifting and moving flooring materials, and safely using material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspection, safety checks, and reporting maintenance issues promptly.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized, with the ability to follow schedules, routes, and delivery instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of local and regional driving routes in and around New York City is preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, building materials, or flooring delivery is a plus.
