About Us
Highland Forest Daycare & Early Learning Center is a nurturing early childhood program serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in Dickinson, TX. We are currently seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and caring Assistant Teacher & Childcare Van Driver to support daily transportation needs and provide classroom assistance throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, thrives in a team environment, and values routine and responsibility.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time Monday – Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Open the center each morning and ensure classrooms are prepared for the day
- Safely transport school-age children to and from local elementary schools using the center’s childcare van
- Maintain accurate pick-up/drop-off and transportation logs
- Assist in classrooms as needed throughout the morning and afternoon
- Support activities, supervision, and transitions
- Assist with meals, clean-up, and classroom organization
- Provide additional support to kitchen staff and administrative needs as required
- Run occasional center-related errands
- Follow all Texas childcare licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate attendance and daily records
Qualifications & Requirements
- Passion for working with young children
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Clean driving record (required)
- At least 1 year of experience working with young children
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting (state licensing requirement)
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 – $15.00 per hour
