As a subsidiary of Fire-Dex, we specialize in advanced cleaning, inspection, repair, alteration, and equipment customizations for first responders. Our services and rentals meet established industry and manufacturer standards.

We’re seeking a Pick-Up and Delivery Driver with a great driving record. The job is based out of our Dayton location.


Primary Function

The Pick‑Up and Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE) and related materials between customer locations and Gear Wash facilities. In addition to driving responsibilities, this role provides hands‑on support with basic warehouse activities when not actively driving, helping ensure efficient intake, staging, and shipment flow. The Driver represents Gear Wash to customers, supports daily operational needs, and contributes to a culture of safety, quality, and service while complying with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.


Essential Functions

  • Safely operate company‑provided vehicles to perform scheduled pick‑ups and deliveries of firefighter PPE, equipment, and related materials.
  • Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and customer instructions while maintaining professionalism and strong customer service standards.
  • Conduct required pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety, maintenance, or compliance concerns.
  • Accurately document deliveries, pick‑ups, and related activities using required paperwork or electronic systems.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including defensive driving practices, proper material‑handling techniques, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Comply with all company policies, customer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, site staff, and customers regarding schedules, delays, or operational issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and designated work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with warehouse duties when not driving:

    • Receiving
    • Staging
    • Inventory movement
    • Packing and shipping


Must-Have Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules

Physical Requirements

  • Sit for extended periods while driving
  • Frequently enter and exit vehicle
  • Lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the day
  • Moving throughout warehouse, facility, and customer environments to load, unload, stage, or pack materials
  • Work in varying weather conditions and warehouse environments
  • Visual and auditory ability sufficient for safe driving, situational awareness, and communication


Work Environment

  • Combination of driving, warehouse, and customer site environments
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions while driving
  • Warehouse environments with machinery, noise, and temperature variation
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable

Overtime and Scheduling

This position may require work beyond regularly scheduled hours, including overtime, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
