We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Class B Dump Truck Driver, with at least 2 years experience in dumps, to join our team as a part-time floater. This position is ideal for someone who is retired, with open availability during the week and just looking for some extra income. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with dump trucks, and will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, load and unload procedures, and adherence to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate dumps to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and construction debris.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Follow designated routes for timely delivery while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities and types of materials transported.
- Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Ensure the truck is kept clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist in loading/unloading freight as required, utilizing forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
- Part-time floater, on an "as needed" basis.
- Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as an dump truck driver is REQUIRED.
- Ability to perform route driving efficiently while managing time effectively.
- Strong understanding of load and unload procedures for various types of materials.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
