Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo efficiently and safely, utilizing equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Drive on designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure secure deliveries.
- Manage route driving schedules to optimize delivery times while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or potential delays.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route driving.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks and equipment like forklifts is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight efficiently while ensuring cargo safety and security.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight transportation and vehicle inspections.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements for specialized equipment if applicable.
