Weekends off! Most loads are within 2-6 hours from Clinton nc with days off during the week as well as weekends . Join our dynamic team as an Over the Road Commercial Driver’s License A Truck Driver and take on the exciting challenge of transporting freight across long distances with energy and precision! In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers equipped for various types of cargo, including refrigerated loads,dry van loads. Your expertise in route driving and load & unload procedures will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport a variety of freight types, including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklift or other equipment when necessary, ensuring secure handling of freight
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including brakes, tires, lights, and load security
- Plan optimal routes to ensure on-time deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption and adhering to hours-of-service regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered on the road
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance reports
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license and familiarity with manual transmission vehicles
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or other loading equipment when required
- Excellent route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and safety during long-distance travel
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities including documentation accuracy and customer service
- Physical ability to handle freight loading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularly
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations related to commercial driving
