Join our dynamic team as an Over the Road Commercial Driver’s License A Truck Driver and embark on an exciting journey delivering freight across the country! Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across long-distance routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or roll-off trucks
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries, managing route driving responsibilities with precision and professionalism
- Deliver freight to various locations, ensuring accurate delivery documentation and customer satisfaction
- Maintain logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL A license, preferably with over-the-road (OTR) driving experience
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and handling different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when required
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial trucking
- Experience in route driving across multiple states or regions is highly desirable
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling and customer service is a plus
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with truck driving duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
