Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Over the Road Commercial Driver’s License A Truck Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers to transport freight across long distances, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining safety and compliance standards. This position offers the opportunity to be on the move, delivering essential products to our customers with professionalism and enthusiasm. Typically, local runs in the Midwest. Home every weekend and frequently once during the week.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission over long routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure vehicle safety and compliance before each trip
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and deliveries in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to load & unload operations and DOT regulations
- Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, documentation, and route planning
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a positive attitude on the road
