Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable OTR Class A Truck Drivers to join our transportation team. Must have a Class A CDL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers. This role involves delivering freight efficiently across designated routes while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Candidates should have experience with route driving, load and unload procedures, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across assigned routes
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Transport goods via flatbed, refrigerated trailers as required
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues during transit
- Assist with securing loads to prevent shifting or damage during transport
- Follow all safety protocols related to driving, loading/unloading, and vehicle maintenance
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck operated (manual transmission experience preferred)
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery experience
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Experience with various truck types including flatbeds, refrigerated trailers is a plus
- Knowledge of load securing procedures and safety standards for transporting freight
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
