NEMT Driver Jobs in San Jose at Swift Care Medical Transport
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate NEMT Driver to safely transport passengers to medical appointments, dialysis centers, therapy sessions, pharmacies, and other approved locations in and around San Jose. This role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service, particularly for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and patients requiring mobility assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans, in compliance with California traffic laws and company policies.
- Provide door-to-door assistance, helping passengers in and out of vehicles and properly securing wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
- Verify passenger identity and scheduled destinations before each trip.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and professional-looking vehicle.
- Accurately document trip details, mileage, and incidents using company logs or dispatch software.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays, traffic, or schedule changes.
- Deliver compassionate, respectful, and patient care to all passengers.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality policies.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Valid California driver’s license; clean driving record required.
- Must be at least 23 years old.
- Ability to safely lift and assist passengers up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in transportation, caregiving, or customer service preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification and Passenger Assistance Training preferred (or willingness to complete after hire).
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
