SHANER’S TOWING is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the Decatur Location!
In this pivotal role, our lead drivers earns around $$100-120K . We are looking for someone eager to take calls and who wants to be a top earning driver. Consistently answering the radio at night is a must. You will provide roadside assistance, run solo wrecker recoveries, and participate as a team for Larger recoveries. Duties
- Safely operate medium and heavy-duty tow trucks equipped with flatbed and other specialized towing equipment to recover and transport vehicles of varying sizes.
- Load, secure, and unload vehicles using appropriate tools such as wheel loaders or manual methods, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform automotive repairs or assist in troubleshooting mechanical problems related to manual transmissions, engines, brakes, drivelines, or electrical systems when necessary.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and incident reports to ensure accountability and compliance with company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and emergency responders while managing conflict professionally when needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks to ensure operational safety, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and safety equipment.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating flatbed tow trucks, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment safely and efficiently.
- Valid CDL license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is essential.
- Excellent load & unload skills combined with knowledge of safety protocols for heavy equipment handling.
- Ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
