Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Manual Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport materials across construction sites, ensuring efficient and safe delivery of dirt, gravel, asphalt, and other bulk materials. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction site procedures will be vital to maintaining smooth project workflows. Duties
- Safely operate manual transmission dump trucks to haul materials around construction sites and between locations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the dump truck, checking mechanical systems, brakes, lights, and fluid levels to ensure optimal performance
- Load and unload materials such as gravel, dirt, asphalt, and debris with precision and care
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other heavy equipment operators—including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, and water trucks—to execute project plans effectively
- Maintain accurate logs of material deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance needs
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks on the dump truck as needed to keep equipment in top condition
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dump trucks, excavators, loaders
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues and performing routine maintenance on heavy machinery
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently under various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on-site and perform physically demanding tasks
