Position Overview

As a Long-Haul Driver at Kristen Distributing, you will be a key player in our transportation team, contributing to the seamless and reliable delivery of beverage products from suppliers to our warehouse. This is a no-overnight position, meaning you return home every night rather than running multi-day, sleeper-cab routes. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. Your primary responsibilities include the efficient pick-up of loads from breweries and suppliers, adherence to safety regulations, and collaborative delivery efforts with contractors such as BWAY. You will play a crucial part in upholding our commitment to excellence in service and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities

Your essential duties will include:

  • Pick up loads of beverages from breweries and suppliers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Safely transport loads of product to Kristen Distributing Warehouse, following designated routes.
  • Collaborate with contractors, such as BWAY, to deliver products as required.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safe operation, promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance upkeep of delivery vehicle/trailer.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date log books, documenting driving hours, rest periods, and other required information.
  • Adhere to DOT and DPS mandated regulations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and adjust driving behavior according to weather and road conditions.
  • Uphold compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any related duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the transportation department.

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no automatic-transmission (“E”) restriction, qualifying you to legally operate manual (standard) transmission semi-trucks.
  • Our long-haul trucks are equipped with standard (manual) transmissions. Candidates must be proficient and experienced in operating manual-transmission semi-trucks across varying driving conditions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven commercial driving experience, highlighting a history of safe and competent driving.
  • Understanding and commitment to adhering to safety regulations, including DOT and DPS mandates, to ensure the safe transportation of goods.
  • Ability to conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, promptly reporting and addressing any malfunctions or issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date log books, documenting driving hours, rest periods, and other necessary information.
  • Strict adherence to all applicable traffic laws and the ability to adjust driving behavior according to varying weather and road conditions.
  • Commitment to upholding compliance with all company policies and procedures related to transportation and delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check, ensuring a clean and trustworthy record.
