Local Truck Driver Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Local Truck Driver to transport goods to customers and job sites within the local area. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport materials and equipment to designated locations.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and paperwork.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.
- Keep vehicles clean and organized.
Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B driver’s license (depending on vehicle requirements).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move materials when necessary.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Previous truck driving experience preferred.
- RAIL YAR EXPERIENCE AND AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE.
Schedule:
- Local routes only; home daily.
- Full-time position with potential overtime opportunities
Pay: $900.00 – $1,600.00 per week
