Duties
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer truck with manual transmission across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Deliver goods efficiently to multiple destinations, managing route driving with precision and punctuality.
- Inspect trucks before and after trips to ensure mechanical soundness, proper load securement, and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and route documentation for compliance purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, address issues promptly, and provide excellent customer service.
Experience
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating tractor-trailers in a local delivery setting.
- Prior experience in freight delivery, load & unload procedures, route driving, and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with freight handling using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
