Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklift or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement
- Route drive efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays
- Manage freight documentation accurately and complete delivery logs promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any vehicle issues
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Proven truck driving experience with freight delivery in a local setting
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual techniques
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections and cargo handling
