Job Summary
This position will require the driver to start at 6:00 am and work until scheduled deliveries are completed (up to 10 hours). This position requires the driver to perform deliveries Monday through Saturday (6 days per week). The driver will be responsible for overseeing truck loading by store associates. Strap the pre pulled / packaged product and deliver to the product to customers driveway and unload with the forklift attached to rear of truck (Moffett forklift).
Product delivered would include lumber, drywall, block, etc. No tarping required. No appliances.
Equipments will be a 24′ flatbed truck with attached forklift for unloading.
There are no benefits for this position
Pay is $1100/week by direct deposit every Friday (W2 tax form)
Responsibilities
- Operate a straight truck with 24′ flatbed and Moffett forklift
- Have held a Class B CDL for at least 2 years with a good MVR.
- Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, utilizing forklifts when required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.
- Ability to pass drug test and background check.
- Utilize phone app to manage and upload daily route progress.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Experience operating flatbed trucks and forklifts.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Deliver freight to designated locations along specified routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist with loading or securing freight on trucks as needed, ensuring proper handling of sensitive or hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Valid CDL B license with a clean driving record.
- Proven truck driving experience, especially in local route driving involving freight delivery.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and freight handling.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to pass background check.
