Expected hours: Approximately 10–25 hours per week, depending on availability and business needs

Pappert’s Kitchen Co. is a growing local meal prep company looking for a reliable, hardworking team member to support our weekly grocery shopping, Sunday meal prep operation, and customer deliveries.
This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a larger kitchen operations or management role for the right person.
In this role, you will ensure smooth meal preparation, timely delivery, and adherence to food safety standards. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us serve nutritious, delicious meals while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Schedule
Applicants must have availability for the following:
- Fridays and/or Saturdays: Grocery shopping around San Marcos. Hours may be flexible depending on the weekly menu.
- Sundays: Meal prepping in SAE kitchen, generally beginning around 6:00 or 7:00 AM and ending around 4:00 or 5:00 PM.
- Sunday evenings and/or Mondays: Meal delivery routes may be available or required depending on the position.
Primary Responsibilities
Depending on your experience and availability, responsibilities may include:
- Grocery shopping at local San Marcos stores
- Carefully reviewing and completing organized grocery lists
- Transporting groceries safely to the commercial kitchen
- Assisting with Sunday meal prep and kitchen production
- Washing, chopping, weighing, portioning, labeling, and packaging food
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen
- Loading and delivering prepared meals to customers
- Following delivery routes and confirming deliveries
- Tracking inventory and identifying items that need to be reordered
- Helping organize kitchen systems and weekly production
- Supporting staff and keeping the Sunday operation running efficiently
- Prepare meals according to menu plans while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly in compliance with safety standards.
- Package prepared meals securely for delivery or pickup, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Drive meal prep vehicles safely to deliver orders promptly while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production schedules and address any operational issues promptly.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
- Is available on Fridays and/or Saturdays and consistently available on Sundays
- Is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented
- Works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Can follow written recipes, grocery lists, portioning instructions, and checklists
- Is comfortable standing for extended periods and completing physical kitchen tasks
- Can lift and carry groceries, food containers, and kitchen supplies
- Has a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Communicates clearly and responds promptly to messages
- Takes initiative and can work independently after training
- Treats customers, coworkers, and kitchen staff professionally
- Is interested in taking on additional responsibility as the company grows
Previous kitchen, restaurant, meal prep, catering, delivery, grocery shopping, inventory, or management experience is preferred.
