Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and professional 1099 Box Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company standards. This independent contractor role is ideal for experienced drivers who are comfortable with regional, or local deliveries and can operate independently with strong time-management skills.
Duties
- Safely operate box trucks with manual transmission, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using proper techniques and equipment such as Lift gate
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, adjusting as needed for traffic or delivery priorities
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and refrigeration units if applicable
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Assist with securing refrigerated loads when required for specialized freight handling
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (non-CDL)
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with freight delivery or route driving roles
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles
- Experience with refrigerated loads
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment like liftgate
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to trucking, including DOT regulations and vehicle maintenance standards
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Compensation & Structure
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Weekly settlements/pay
- Pay may be structured by mileage, percentage of load revenue, or daily rate
