What You Will Do
- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already licensed.
- Perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
- Perform snow & ice operations.

Qualifications Highway Maintenance Worker 1
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.
Highway Technician 1
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without air‑brake restriction.
Location, Compensation, Schedule
Location:
District 2 Garage – Lucas County, Maumee, Ohio. Compensation: HMW1 $ 20.85/hr, HT1 $ 21.64/hr schedule:
Full‑time, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (varies). Union: OCSEA.
