Overview
We’re looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our chilled distribution operation based in Evesham. This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC deliveries. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.
Shift patterns
- 4 on 4 off Day Shifts (Start times between 11:00 and 13:00)
Pay rates
Our HGV Drivers have strong earning potential, with basic salaries for 4 on 4 off circa £34-35k per annum plus opportunity for overtime for additional OTE. Our drivers are paid per shift, with the following day shift rates:
- Monday to Friday: £174.55 per shift
- Saturday and Sunday: £197.81 per shift
You’ll also receive a £5 daily meal allowance, with Double Decker and disturbance allowances paid where applicable.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out chilled distribution deliveries to main retail RDCs nationwide
- Delivering to key customer sites including major UK retailers
- Completing self-tip deliveries where required, including breaking down pallets at certain sites
- Collecting equipment or returns from customer locations and bringing them back to site
- Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies
- Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office
- Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards
- Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required
- Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times
Qualifications
- Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence
- Current CPC
- Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadline
